Tonight I was surprised and more-than-a-little giddy to learn that Women, Leadership, and the Bible is #49 on the Kindle Best Sellers list for its category (exegesis and hermeneutics) and is ranked at ~93K among all of Amazon books for the print version!

My husband, David, happened to come into the house about ten seconds after I saw that and, like a slap-happy schoolgirl, I waved him upstairs and excitedly pointed to my computer screen. He lovingly cheered and said, “Congratulations! (You’re 500-thousand higher than the last time I checked on my book’s rank!)”

93K may not sound all that amazing, but when you consider the bazillion books listed on Amazon…well, I feel pretty good about it.

Thank you so very much for all of your support, for helping spread the word about it, and for (perhaps) purchasing it yourself. I have no way of knowing who is purchasing or how many books have actually been purchased to create those rankings, but I still thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Many of you have entrusted your email address to me so we can stay in touch, and I do not take that lightly. Thank you.

To everyone who has read my posts, responded to mass-emails with a word of encouragement, shared news about WLB socially (either online or in the real world!), participated in the Facebook giveaway (another one’s coming very soon!), and/or purchased your own copy: I sincerely appreciate your interest; your “likes,” “shares,” and “retweets”; and your support of this effort to encourage and equip women in the church to interpret the Bible with both spiritual and scholarly integrity.

I feel blessed, supported, and encouraged. And happily surprised.
